Montessori On the Lake

School is nice but it's NOT a good fit for special kids. These kids need more care and attention which this school may not be able to provide. There will be an evaluation period to test if the child fits their program, but the problem is their faculty will not want to work with the child that require attention and redirection in the long run. So if you have a special child perhaps there are other programs that are better.

I can't say enough about how exceptional Montessori on the Lake is!!. My daughter was an extremely shy and quite 3-year-old when she started at MOTL, and they did an amazing job of helping her develop her confidence, independence, and creative freedom. They taught her to how to learn and how to cooperate and work with other people. My daughter transited to public school in 5th grade, and with the foundation that was built by MOTL, she has excelled academically and in so many other ways. Looking back over the years, there were amazing teachers and experiences that we will never forget. I can't begin to list them all here, but I'm so very grateful for all of it. THANK YOU MOTL!!

MOTL is an absolutely wonderful place and experience for our preschooler, who has attended for over 2 years and is heading to K in August. She has grown so much socially, emotionally and mentally since attending and is well prepared for K. Teachers are all fantastic and brings a smile to our daughter's face when we chat about them. Administration is flexible and accommodating, especially during the unknowns and pressure of the recent pandemic. It's a clean and beautiful facility on the lake, with super rad playgrounds. I also find it to be pretty affordable compared to other Montessori schools in the area.  It has to be unbelievably difficult to run a school, having to deal with high parental expectations, and they handle communications pretty well. What a great place to have a child go during their early years!

Our two boys attended this school for the past 3 years. I can't say enough about the quality of the education and teaching staff at this school. Our older son had Ms Sandy and Mr Adam for middle school. Coming from a public school, he changed from a moody preteen with a negative attitude to a happy, confident teenager. And he's currently sailing through his honors high school science academy with a 4.0 average, thanks to Ms Sandy's rigorous program. Our younger son had an awesome experience in the grade school program, with Ms Cheryl, Mr Adam, and other staff.  Probably the best part of this school is Ms. Therese! She's the best and is the glue that holds the school together and my kids still miss their great conversations with her.

As a first time mom it's so daunting leaving your baby with anyone. The whole team at MOTL has taken such wonderful care of our baby. She has been going to the school from 16 weeks up until now (in the toddler room). We have felt so much better knowing she is cared for, and LOVES going to school. We are so sad to be moving out of the area and wish we could keep her enrolled. Thank you all, so much!
