Two years ago I was new to California and I had a great deal of trepidation about being with a new dentist. I was very fortunate to take the referral of a friend and begin with Dr. Alvarenga. She and her staff are excellent and very kind. I have needed work beyond the usual cleanings and occasional cavity. Dr. Alvarenga has impressed me a great deal. It is highly unusual to have a dentist that can be reached quickly at any time. You will be happy that you made the choice to become her patient.

Do not have cavities filled here Ive been hesitant to write this review because the staff were very kind to me, but I chose this office because of their online reviews so I feel I need to share my experience. They performed a cleaning with no problem. Afterwards I was told I had 3 cavities. When I arrived a week later to fix them, I was told its now 4 cavities. They did their work and I went home. Later in the day I experienced sensitivity to water and food. I drove back to have the issue fixed. They tried to redo the filling 3 times, and I still said it was sensitive. Then they said they could place silver inside, which would never need to be changed. I was in pain and agreed to the procedure. Afterwards she said it wasnt successful and that I needed a root canal. The pain I experienced afterwards is the worst Ive ever felt in my entire life. Pain that made me want to end my life. Unrelenting pain that wouldnt let me eat or drink anything. The next day I was asked if brushing my teeth fixed the pain. It started to feel condescending. I started taking ibuprofen and scheduled an emergency appt for a root canal. The specialist I saw took scans that showed no root canal was necessary. No cavity was visible. And here is where I felt incredibly hurt; the silver filling was placed with no sealant over the tooth, causing excessive sensitivity. The pain I was experiencing was expected to last past 3 weeks, yet I was being told it should go away quickly. I had them remove all the work done by Dr. Alvarenga and place their own filling. The pain was instantly lower. No cavity, but a very large hole into my tooth because of the prior work done. I have difficult teeth to work with, so if you are a simple case you will find this office perfect. If you come in for any dental filling please think twice. I paid $500 out of pocket to fix their work. I expected to pay thousands for a root canal. I lived in excruciating pain that this dentists office told me would go away if I brushed enough, or took some pain pills for. I still have no root canal, only a damaged tooth with occasional sensitivity from the depth they drilled.

Daisy stated I needed my cavity refilled.. I had no pain and just went in for a cleaning since it was free with my insurance. I foolishly let her refill my cavity. I asked if I needed a root canal. She said no. I urge you to find a different dentist if you need work done. I have never had such pain and sensitivity in my mouth before. I have been in pain for over a year and a half now. Learn from my mistake cheap dentists cause worse problems.

She is a wonderful Dentist thoughtful and kind. She listens to your concerns and does her best to solve everything.
