Very friendly and professional vet techs and doctors; reception personnel could benefit from a slight attitude check but its nothing all that severe.

BEWARE: FATAL LACK OF CARE! This review is painful to write but hopefully it will help others avoid the trauma we experienced at Dr. Buttars office. At our cat Katrinas annual exam, her Senior tests ($470) showed she was remarkably healthy except for slightly elevated kidney values, common at the age of sixteen. The trouble began when Dr. Buttar suggested switching flea meds from Bravecto, (which had been working fine) to Revolution, supposedly better. When she had a severe reaction to Revolution dizziness, falling, not eating or drinking I called immediately. The receptionist initially told me just to watch her. Over the next four days I called and emailed frantically as Katrina wasted away. Still no response. By Day Five, the snarky receptionist simply barked that I should just take her to the nearest pet ER. Alas, the nearest available ER turned out to be an hour and a half away in rush hour holiday weekend traffic in San Ramon: By the time we reached Veterinarians Emergency Group (VEG) Katrinas kidneys were already failing. Although the vets there were incredibly skilled and compassionate, they couldnt save her. Within a day we had to end her suffering. The VEG report pointed to Revolution as the culprit, so they filed an incident report with the manufacturer. While were grateful Zoetis reimbursed us no contest for $695 in extra vet and euthanasia costs, we still have many questions: If Revolution is unsafe for senior cats, why was it prescribed? Why was the staff so unconcerned? Whats with the stonewalling? Did Dr. Buttar even get my messages? Katrina was a smart and lively feline. This treatment (or lack thereof) not only destroyed her life but also our trust in Dr. Buttars office. It didnt have to end this way. Dont let this happen to you or your pet! Hung up on me because Saturday in 4 weeks wasnt specific enough and they needed me to look up the date on the calendar. I didnt have a calendar easily accessible while they obviously do. Going to find a different provider. Hung up on me because Saturday in 4 weeks wasnt specific enough and they needed me to look up the date on the calendar. More

Attempted to take puppy for wellness check was told I did not have an appointment after receiving two confirmations! Had a wait time of 20 minutes average I guess?!? Then was asked are you a new client, if so I am unsure if the vet is taking new clients? Trying to support my local business...

Dr Fernandez was so informative & compassionate when we brought in our very sick cat. Our regular Albany vet couldnt see us for a month despite the emergency. The entire ECVC team was helpful and we felt listened to while sorting out a plan of care. Got meds, next appointment and other details handled efficiently.
