Circle Air Group, LLC - FBO

We did a Civil Air Patrol proficiency flight today, coming from the LA basin, and landed at Circle Air for some fuel and a bottle of water. Sonia and Rosali made us feel like we flew in on a commercial jet. Super nice, even offered us a freshly baked cookie to offset my weight and balance. I wish all FBO's had staff like this. Super clean and modern as well. 5 stars is not enough. We'll be back.

3% credit card surcharge for 100LL, and ramp fees waived for 50 gal of full service only. Expensive, but at least the FBO itself is nice.

I have been flying from Los Angeles to this FBO for years even when it use to be named "Jet Air "and now it is Circle Air Group with new owners and new management. I really liked this FBO although their fuel prices are higher than some of the other air fields in San Diego. The higher fuel prices did not matter because the service was great. Unfortunately yesterday, I had the worse experience with Sonia O'Connor, manager, who has no compassion and is so money hungry she lost a customer for a $30 ramp fee. I landed Gillespie to drop off my uncle, I picked him from the same location two days prior and filled up at Circle Air and flew back to LA and returned again yesterday to drop him off and once again fuel up again. Now granted the fuel at Circle Air is least .82 a gallon more than my home field at KWHP. but in support their business and for the courtesy of simply landing to pick up and drop off I fuel up there. Yesterday, I asked the front desk employee Rosa Lee if I could go to the restaurant cafe at the Airport grab a bite to eat as there was no ramp fee for simply landing and taking off, I asked if this would be ok and she said it was ok. Well upon my return Sonia 0'Connor had already charged my credit card for the ramp fee without disclosure or discussion stating very coldly it's on our website. I protested because if I would have known this I would have just taken off and went back home. However Sonia could care less, and even stated that is the reason long time employee Brianna got fired was for not charging customers the ramp fee. Let's see I fueled up twice paid .82 a gallon more than my home airport and now Circle air charges me a ramp fee on top of that? I was appalled by Sonia's coldness as Rosa Lee sat there and said nothing even though she told me it was ok. I will never support this business as long as Sonia O' Connor is managing and the company's polices are so strict that it's employees would rather loose a long time customer for a $30 ramp fee.
