Laid back. Appreciate the helpful staff. Bed feels like a friggen cloud.

So I was visiting a friend and upon first review it was a nice place. The bed was comfortable the AC worked very nicely the the surrounding areas of the hotel wasn't loud at all. An issue I had was the room smelled like smoke, not like someone just smoked in the room but like it was a smoking room. I get it people smoke in the rooms but as a non smoker I didn't like that too much. The other problem is I saw a baby roach. The lights were on it was about 6p. It was small but big enough to see and it scurries under the little thing between the carpenters and the other flooring. Overall not horrible but could use some work.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!!!The MANAGER CRYSTAL IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT HELP CUSTOMERS.The staff literally sit on the curb in plain sight smoking cigarettes. I was charged THREE times the room deposit. When I brought it up to the receptionist she was clueless and when I spoke to the manger she sounded hungover/drunk and was very rude. I had to speak with my bank yet I still have not received the full amount I should be refunded. THE HOTEL CLARION POINT CLAIMS NO RESPONSIBILITY EVEN THOUGH THEY OVERCHARGED MY CARD. THE HOTEL AREA IS FILTHY LITTERED WITH TRASH AND THE FLOORS IN THE HOTEL ROOM WILL LEAVE YOUR FEET STAINED BLACK. There is BURN holes in the blankets, the door to our room wouldn't lock unless you slammed it shut. No WiFi. Additionally they charge you a hidden 10$ fee for security which is a joke. The rooms are WAY overpriced, and you'll likely be charged additional fees and deposits. I'm not sure if they make money by charging additional deposits and making you file a claim with your bank in which case they lose nothing. REALLY DONT STAY HERE, IVE TRAVELED AND BEEN TO LOTS OF HOTELS... CLARION POINT/BEST WESTERN(they have the same management at this location) IS THE WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED AT. For the price you can stay downtown San Diego for like 20$ more, do your self the favor.

I don't post yelp reviews often, but this was one of my worst experiences. There were many things wrong with the room. I don't plan on booking here ever again; the front desk agent was very nice and helpful.
