Thank you Sam Engineering and Stephen for coming out to my property and inspecting the structure and reinsuring us that the structure of our home is still in good condition for the age of the home. SAM Engineering was very knowledgeable with the home and even the history of the homes in the area. Being able to identify the renovations done to the home and provide recommendations to reinforce and extend the structure of the home. Definitely took the time to thoroughly walk around the home and address any concerns and questions we had. Felt comfortable and confident with Stephens knowledge, that Im neither hesitant nor feel the need to get a second opinion on the recommendations and suggestions. Wanted to increase the load bearing capacity of my garage for attic storage and was looking for advice from a structural engineer. Stephen was detailed, knowledgeable, and thorough, and helped me to understand the things I needed to look out for like how adding additional load could impact the framing around the garage door in the event of an earthquake, the impact on the rest of the home because the garage is attached, and the foundation. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and helped me understand what it would take to strengthen the garage to make it structurally sound, and bring it up to today's building code.
