Great food. Crowded but great service

My daughter requested to take one of her friends to dinner for her birthday (December 16th). Unfortunately she chose Black Bear Diner. All of our food was over cooked. All fries were over cooked. My bacon cheddar burger patty, over cooked beyond well done. Her fish and fries (chips) all over cooked. We all basically received burnt fries and whatever we ordered was over cooked as well. Service was not good, server took too long to get our initial order and check in periodically. There were only two other tables, no excuse for such a poor experience. All of us agreed we won't be coming to Black Bear anymore. Denny's, IHOP or Mel's for a diner experience.

The oatmeal is so dry, hard and undercooked that it feels like chewing on undercooked brown rice. The shasta scramble is tasteless and the hash brown is soaked in rancid oil and no flavor at all. Service is ok.

The service was slow, the grits were hard, the eggs were overcooked, and the hashbrowns weren't good. The meal wasn't worth the price. The parking lot was crowded and confusing as to which spaces belonged to Black Bear.
