I paid a lot of money to her to treat my severe depression. Her goal was to get me off most of the psychiatric meds I was on using "vitamins". So I spent about 6 months in the worst depression of my life, treated by her using vitamins. The disservice she did to me and probably others who were desperate enough to follow her instructions is immense. I find it disturbing that a psychiatrist would push someone to go off their meds at a time when they were really suffering. She also prescribed hormones for me. I suspected that her practice offered them to women as a way to control aging which is kind of ridiculous. I tried them for a while with not much effect. I eventually went to a gynecologist and when I told her I was using this hormone cream she was very upset. She showed me studies that a person in my situation should not be taking hormones as the risk for developing cancer would be great. I find it really disturbing that someone could be a doctor and could flippantly prescribe something without really looking into the latest studies. Especially prescribing them to someone who had already been through cancer. I don't know if she is scamming people or if she really believes in her methods, but I feel so stupid for wasting money and following the advice of someone whose methods are dubious. I eventually went back on Wellbutrin and I recovered. I lost a year of my life following her advice and risked cancer again. I hope this review helps someone avoid what happened to me. When you are desperate it is easy to be taken advantage of.

Dr. Banyas took the time to listen to me and asked questions no other doctor or practioner has ever asked!  Wow!  Lana, her office manager, is responsive and very helpful as well.

Dr Banyas is an amazing and skilled doctor. She is compassionate, genuine, very knowledgeable and top notch technically. As an integrated dr she has a much broader range of tools she can use to heal.  Her office manager, Lana is a delight to work with.

If you are tired of being rushed out of the doctors office with a prescription and no information or answers, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Banyas. She is an extremely patient, kind and thorough doctor and I always feel heard during my office visits. Her office visits are longer than traditional psychiatrists as she seeks to find the underlying cause of your ailment, instead of just medicating the symptom. While she is extremely skilled at holistic remedies, she also is a trained psychiatrist and is able to prescribe medication, if that is your desire or if it is clinically appropriate. I appreciate having a doctor that can evaluate both approaches and she always guides me through the benefits and drawbacks of each recommendation. I have brought my children to see Dr. Banyas and she has a very delicate and caring approach to working with children. She has a way of normalizing their experience which has helped us tremedously in their compliance with treatment. Please go see her if you are looking for a different and more human approach to your medical care.
