The woman who assists clients with eyewear selection and ordering is borderline rude. She exhibits a perfunctory attitude as if one is impinging upon her precious time. Considering the significant cost of eyewear, it would not be asking much for common courtesy, attentiveness and positivity. We live in a society where respectful client/customer service is seldom provided. This is the disheartening reality of our age. In future, I will obtain my eyewear at another site.

Dr. Alex Onishi is an exceptional ophthalmologist, and his staff are the cream of the crop. Their expertise and compassionate care have made a profound difference in our lives. When my brother faced a severe case of cataracts that left him struggling with his vision, Dr. Onishi and his team were there from start to finish. Their meticulous approach to treatment, coupled with unwavering support throughout the process, has been nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to their excellent work, my brother can now see the world with clarity, free from the shadows that once hindered him. We are immensely grateful to Dr. Onishi and his staff for restoring not just sight, but hope and joy in our lives. Their dedication to their patients is evident, and we highly recommend them to anyone seeking top-notch eye care. Thank you, Dr. Onishi and team, for your remarkable service!

I wanted to share a most disappointing and embarrassing experience I had today, February, 23rd, 2024 at the Pacific Eye Specialists clinic at the Seton Medical Offices in Daly City located at 1850 Sullivan, Daly City. I came to this clinic for an eye exam appointment set up for me by my primary doctor. I arrived on time at 10:10AM and went up to the reception to check in. After pleasantries I announced I had an appointment with Alex Onishi,MD. This is where it all got ugly. The lady at the reception asked my name and checked on her computer. She then said she'd need my id and insurance card. I felt like she demanded it and did not even say 'please'. I thought at this point : well, its fine. She's probably having one of thise days. After checking my cards, she gave me this attitude and in a very unpleasant tone of voice that My insurance, Healt plan of San Mateo Ace, was not accepted by their clinic. I explained to her that my insurance was medi-cal under Health plan of san mateo and not ACE. She then ordered me to fix it with my insurance to get a new card and that she'll let it pass for now. Not wanting to make a scene, I humbly kept my cool inspite the embarrassment i had underwent with all the other patients-in-waiting hearing her as she treated me like I had no right to be at their clinic. She did it again when she handed me forms to fill out when she said: You need to fill this out and bring it back to me when you're done. No 'please' and no pleasantries like she was doing me a world of favor to get checked in at their most precious clinic. I went to a seat and filled out the form. As I was doing this, I noticed other patients coming up to check in but got all the pleasantries and 'pleases' when their insurance sounded private and expensive, not to mention she did have a different/better attitude when dealing with white people. That felt so sad considering she was asian herself, like me. I also feel sorry for the good doctor Alex Onishi. He was great and made you feel important from start to finish. Very professional. I wish i could say the same for their staff. My eyes were dilated with several drops and was told i will need sunglasses. Another disappointment. They never informed me of this requirement before the examination. I did not have said 'shades'. After the tests with the doctor, i went up to the reception and was set up for another appointment but was never asked if i was ok or if i needed one of those disposable shades for safety. I had to slowly make it back to my car as the sun was very bright and the glare was quite troublesome. I definitely couldn't drive so i had to ask my wife and daughter to come pick me up so someone else can drive the car home. They were surprised i wasn't given any 'shades' by the clinic people. I wll report this to my PCP so they know what kind of people they send their patients to. This is one of the worst clinic visits I ever had and I have had all kinds all over. Management should know about this and i will make sure they do. Oh, about that appontment for my next visit. NO THANK YOU. I will find another clinic where patients can feel comfortably welcome and important.

I never liked this office bec of the long wait before the doctor sees me. Its like you have to put the entire morning hrs to them, sacrifice your routine wrk just to be finally attended. I was close to leaving the office bec this person attending me for test is so unattentive. She made me wait long even after the test is done. But i dont wanna waste my copay. And besides, they ask you to pay before the service. Service first before pay right?  And the last part is the doctor that will make you wait too. Overall ive been here for always more than 2 hrs wait.

Wrong diagnosis used. They said I had cataracts so they can bill my medical insurance instead of VSP.  According to the doctor I had healthy eyes and no concerns. VSP would have covered my yearly eye exam. Instead I now need to pay out of pocket.   When I called their billing area they gave a different explanation and said that they were a different kind of practice and that their exams are not covered by VSP. This practice was listed as VSP in network.  My previous exam with this Practice was fully covered by VSP a few years ago.
