Richard was referred to me by my agent when the lender I initially used didn't work out. I had a 25 day escrow and didn't have much time but I wanted a second opinion. I contacted Richard to seek his advise about the lender issue and whether it was worth proceeding with the property purchase. After a lengthy discussion, we moved forward and he worked expeditiously to get the property appraised, my loan processed and approved. He was very easy to talk to and patiently responsive to all my questions. He also has a great team assisting him like Karen Alam who was very nice and responsive. In the end, Richard helped me get a great rate, my loan approved and helped put me in a home and community I absolutely love! I highly recommend Richard and his team at GEM Mortgage and I look forward to working with them again for my next purchase.

When our CPA introduced us to Richard, we were almost at the point of giving up our hopes of refinancing our house.  After three months of working with Quicken loans and having spent  almost $1,000 in appraisals and other fees,  the faceless loan officer -- which by the way was not the first person who sold the refinance to us -- notified us we did not qualify for our loan in spite of having an over 800 FICA score, no debts other than car loans and enough income and equity.  Granted, our case was difficult, multiple sources of non payroll income issues with the title and a jumbo loan complicated things tremendously.  It is exactly here when we witness Richard performing at his best.  He navigated through every single issue with dexterity and an unparalleled level of professionalism.  It took us approximately six months and he never gave up on us.  He knew in his heart that our case was difficult but not impossible. We will always be grateful to him.  We can not recommend Richard and his organization any higher.
