We are from the Pacific Northwest and cruising our boat in Southern California for the winter months. We were having some problems with our Simrad electro-hydraulic autopilot drive. Long Beach marine Electronics suggested we call Fishing Boats Unlimited because they had expertise in fixing hydraulic problems so we contacted them. That was in mid-December. Tony Grayshock came over to our boat while we were in Long Beach, looked over the system and said he could diagnose and fix the problem but needed a bit of time to do research. Over the course of the next 6 weeks I called Tony 3 or 4 times to see how he was progressing. (BTWhe never returned my calls, I always had to try multiple times until he picked up his phone). This morning I received the following message from him Sorry wont be able to help you with the hydraulic steering on your boat I have an emergency job in Mexico. No phone call, no explanation nor any comment about waiting until he returns. Sounds like an excuse someone uses who knows he doesnt have the knowledge to fix a problem. In summary, unqualified, disinterested, dishonest and disingenuous.
