Claremont Modern Dentistry

I have been severely disappointed by Claremont Modern Dentistry but more than that I feel offended, hurt, and taken advantage of by Dr. Joyce Choi. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Claremont Modern Dentistry already has a history of recommending unnecessary procedures (you can tell by the Google Reviews they attempt to hide). You should also know that they are owned by Pacific Dental, they are in no way a small business, and will take advantage of every opportunity to overcharge you and "provide" unnecessary services. Dr. Choi recommended I have an implant on a tooth I JUST had a root canal on, not only that, CMD quoted me over $5000 in copay for the implant (for those that don't know, this is much more than the standard cost at any other dentist, and yes I did ask for quotes and opinions from others). I actually waited to write this review to be certain that I was being given bad advice. With no surprise, I had 2 dentists tell me my teeth were fine and didn't need any type of implant. In fact, I would have been WASTING a perfectly good tooth. My mind was blown and even when I confronted Dr. Choi she had little to say except excuses. Overall my experience has been a big waste of time. I loved them for their customer service and kind staff but it turns out it was just a bag of B.S. wrapped in nice wrapping paper. Big thanks to Claremont Modern Dentistry, Dr. Joyce Choi, and the staff that are all too friendly to rip you off and waste both your time and money. You've completely lost my trust and can rest assured, I won't be back.

I feel it is my obligation to write this. Please avoid CMD at all costs. They overcharged me using bogus insurance numbers - and I had to file a complaint against them with my insurance - which I won. So please check your bills if you do go there. And if they suggest a root canal, run don't walk to get a second opinion. I am still in excrutiating pain after Dr. Vohra performed mine. It did not help (in fact it made the pain worse) and other dentists have now say it may not have even been necessary. I have had no choice but to leave this dentist and I hope I can save a few from going through something similar. If you do go there and want to stay, please check your receipts against your insurance.

Claremont Modern Dentistry has friendly and professional staff. Whenever Ive gone here, the procedures are smooth and I do feel like Im getting quality care. With that said though, they WILL try to upswell you on any and every procedure they possibly can in order to suck every last penny from each of their customers. The only people Id recommend to go here are people who know their dental insurance policy well, are good at saying no, or simply have a ton of money laying around for unnecessary dental procedures. If you dont fall into one of those categories: STEAR CLEAR!! Upselling and dishonesty about patients oral health for profit is ruining this business!

I like my dentist but same day cancellations make it hard to want to come back here. Took time off work to be rescheduled morning of appointment due to a schedule change.
