Gabe loves chess, and works at it constantly to improve his strength. Now, he opens his RCA to share his knowledge and popularize chess to every level. He is generous and patient with chess students and friends. He could teach and work well with all ages from 6-8 to over 80. I know Gabe since 2000, when I was barely class C (1500), and Gabe was about class D (1400). 20 years later, I still try to hold on class B level (1650), Gabe already breaks into National Master level (2300+). This shows how much Gabe loves and works at chess. Now, with RCA, Gabe continues to share his lifetime love and dream. Please give Gabe and RCA a try to see how much they can help you and family in logical/critical thinking, and certainly your children's education.

As a professor, faculty chair, academic dean, and president of multiple post-secondary schools, I have extensive experience in teaching, course design, and the method and practice of teaching. I have been working in a reverse role with Chess Instructor Gabe Romo for eighteen months. Meaning, Gabe Romo is my instructor and I am his student. What I know from an article published by the community manager at Pearson, a leader in educational resource organization, is that an effective teacher is a student-focused teacher and a great teacher has five important qualities. * The ability to develop relationships with their students. ... * Patient, caring, and kind personality * Knowledge of learners * Dedication to teaching * Engaging students in learning. (Peterson-DeLuca, 2016) From a student's perspective, I believe that Gabe Romo meets and exceeds the qualities of an effective teacher and, at the same time, follows an effective lesson plan which includes analyzing your games, developing a training regime, assigning rigorous homework, periodically discussing your overall progress, and sharing with you what's going on in the world of chess. If you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced chess player, please know there is always something good that will come from a conversation with Mr. Romo. Professor Milford Peterson-DeLuca, A. (2016, October 11). Top five qualities of effective teachers, according to students.

Gabe has a great way of explaining concepts to his students. He is patient with them and goes above and beyond to make sure they understand the material. Gabe is very dedicated to the game of chess. He is a highly skilled player and is one of the best in area. Gabe will not only teach you how to get better at chess but will show you how chess strategy is applicable to your everyday life. Overall, an outstanding teacher and a fun person to be around.
