i mean you can't expect much from a poor middle school. it's crazy how supposedly that sweet water school district has a lot of money yet in class student must pass around the same paper copy because they can't afford to print more. the courses aren't necessarily hard, the teachers are just unqualified or often just don't bother to help their students.

So far my experience with this school has been positive all the way around. My son loves it here.  He's made so many new friends. When it's the weekend, he tells me he can't wait to go back! I mean, who says that if coming here is really so terrible? His grades can be better however; and the after school tutoring has been of great help. And if this school is "ghetto", you must be walking around with your eyes closed because this is one of the nicest neighborhoods I have ever seen.If the previous reviewers are talking about the other students, on the other hand, well, I can't make any judgments on them.Yes, parking when dropping off and picking up can get crowded and frustrating, but I find that if you can arrive a bit earlier than most, it won't be that bad.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL PROBLEM!!! Today, I just had a really bad headache during lunch and I went to the nurse's office. The nurse said to "come back later" since I didn't have a pass to go to the nurse. What a letdown to this school.

Do not go to this school, especially if you are obese. The P.E. class grades you on how well you do on stuff, and NOT participation. I currently have a C- in P.E. because I failed all my fitness gram tests. I am trying to better myself, but by the time I'm fit I'll be in the next grade, or I'll be in 7th grade again, because if I fail I'll have to repeat 7th grade. The other teachers are also pretty trash, except for a few, like my science, world cultures, and English teachers. The other three are a downgrade from my old middle school. I already talked about P.E., but my band teacher is also not that great. I can barely hear him since he speaks so quietly, and I have no idea about the concerts we're doing because nothing is clear. Whenever we play, and we mess stuff up, my old band teacher would get on his trumpet and play what the music is supposed to sound like, which really helped us improve. My new teacher doesn't do this. Instead he gets on his piano and plays a beat. This makes learning the music way slower. Also he doesn't teach us about balance and blend, which is important to making music sound better. My old band teacher did this, and we sounded like a high school band. My new band sounds like a 6th grade band, and I'm in advanced band, which includes 8th graders and a few 7th graders, like me. Some positives about this teacher is that he doesn't tell, and the class is an easy A. Next up is my math teacher. I'm in compacted math, which is a harder math class. I used to be in algebra, but they put me back in 7th grade math, so that's pretty trash. In my algebra class, the teacher gave us lessons, but my new teacher doesn't! She just gives us work. In addition, she gives us notes to glue into our notebook, but we never go over them. My old school's classes were about 51 minutes long, but in Eastlake the classes are about 2 hours long, because there's a block schedule. My old teacher had time to do lessons, and I had an A in algebra, but my new math teacher apparently doesn't have time for lessons, and gives us work. Some positives are she let's us retake tests, but we don't actually retake the test, we just get a take home test, and she is nice. The schedule is like this: you get to school and do a class for 2 hours, then you have a nutrition break. Nutrition break is just a 10 minutes period in which you can walk around the school and do whatever, talk to your friends, use the restroom, or eat. Then you do another class for 2 hours, then comes lunch. The lunch lines aren't that bad, but there isn't a cafeteria. Instead there are benches and tables plastered around the school for kids to eat on. Finally, you do one more class for 2 hours and go home. Like I said there is a block schedule, which means there are A days and B days. On A days you go to periods 1, 2, and 3. On B days you go to periods 4, 5, and 6. This allows for less stress on weekends, because you'll only have to do homework for 3 classes instead of all 6. This also allows for more learning and teaching to be done in each class. But staying in a class for about 2 hours can get REALLY FRICKING BORING.The car line is non-existent. Instead all the cars park on the side of Stone Gate Street. I hated this at first, but then I started to like it, because there is no car line, so you don't have to wait for your car. When I first came to the school, my new classmates were actually really really nice. They greeted me and introduced themselves. It was really nice.In conclusion. Do not go to this school. I used to be an all A student, and now my grades spell CABBAA, and that's not because I am slacking. Please try to go to another middle school other than this one
