Dr. Liu is a Pioneer in gum grafting!  She is the most sincere and honest Periodontist in Chula Vista.  She has amazing bed side manners and very professional as well as her staff.  Highly recommended

Dr. Karen Liu has been my dentist for over 10 years. She is very competent and professional. She has done numerous tooth fillings, root canals, tooth implant,  gum disease treatments, in addition to routine teeth cleaning for me over the years and I am extremely happy with her work. She has state of art clinics and strives to keep up with the newest technologies in dental profession. Even though I live in Orange County, I'd rather drive 2 hours to see Dr. Liu than go to any local dentists. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Liu, and would recommend her to anyone who needs a great dentist.

Dr Liu is a very good dentist.   She placed two implants and they feel absolutely awesome.   I am a returning patient and currently getting another implant.   I highly recommend Dr Liu to anyone seeking an implant dentist.

After years of not having dental insurance & neglecting my oral health, I had to be referred to a specialist by my regular dentist for extensive & cosmetic dental work. Since I changed careers & now work for a company that has good benefits including dental, now was the time to start working on my teeth. Truthfully, I dreaded going to see Dr. Liu. I was embarrassed of my teeth but I needed to face the music & try to get my oral health issues resolved. I was also afraid that I would not be able to pay for the extensive work that would need to done & that I would have to live a life of wearing dentures & being toothless. I'm only 49 so I did not want to go that route in life. I made an appointment & stepped into the office for the first time. It was very nice & quite comfortable. The receptionist was pleasant to deal with & very helpful. Soon I went into the back where I was greeted by the dental assistant. He was very friendly & had a good sense of humor. I felt at ease right away. Dr. Liu came in & accessed the damage in my mouth. The news was not good. I needed to have 6 teeth on the right side of my jaw extracted & that I had also suffered major bone loss. Dr. Liu has a CT Scan machine in her office that can provide a detailed 3-D picture of the teeth & bone structure. At this point I feel like I am beyond help & there will be no way that I will be able to afford what will need to be done. Who has $25,000 lying around for 4 on 1 dentures or maybe $50,000 for a full set of implants? Not this Yelper!I was lying in the dental chair silently cursing myself for letting my dental issues get so bad. I felt dejected & defeated. What was hopeless to me however was not hopeless to Dr. Liu. She accessed the situation & came up with a game plan. The plan was to install a few implants at key locations & have bridges made to replace the missing teeth at a price I could afford!The first thing was the extraction of 6 teeth. It hurt like hell but Dr. Liu & her assistant did their best to numb up the area but 2 teeth did not want to come out without a fight. Sometimes you have to man up & take the pain. My gums began to get drastically better after the infected teeth were out & truthfully, I felt no real pain the next day after the extraction. I visited Dr. Liu again for a deep cleaning, a second CT Scan & another consultation. I want to say that Dr. Liu during this whole ordeal was beyond amazing! She offered several options on the replacement of my teeth that were more budget friendly to my wallet & she patiently answered all my many questions regarding upcoming procedures. I could tell during our conversations that she really cared about getting my mouth back in order! Dr. Liu even took the time to formulate a future game plan for replacing some missing molars in the bottom of my jaw at again, a price I can afford combined with what my dental insurance will cover.I will be starting my operation this summer. Dr. Liu will perform the placement of the tooth implant anchors & bone grafts. My regular dentist will install the teeth & make the bridges. The price for Dr. Liu's labor after insurance is not cheap but it is at a price I can accept without having to sell off a kidney. If your like me, afraid & embarrassed & fearing the worst, please make an appointment to see Dr. Liu for a consultation. If she can help me, she can help anyone! Dr. Liu has given me confidence that I will have a new gleaming set of teeth & a healthy mouth. It will take a few years of course to complete all the labor but it will get done. Dr. Liu & her staff are awesome people who will help you. Highly recommended by this Yelper!
