We attended today and will not be returning. Here is why: 1. The 3-5 year old teacher was yelling, "A friend loves at all times," as the kids were leaving and pressuring them to hug him as they left. I found this highly inappropriate and was glad my children did not approach him. There were several little girls wearing dresses sitting in his lap and climbing on his legs. In the best case scenario, this man is mentally stunted and acting inappropriately. Worst case scenario, these children are being groomed for assault. 2. Worship was led by a group of gender neutral people. This may be the way of our culture, but it should not be the way of Christians! God created us male and female and gave each gender their own roles and strengths in the structure of church and family. 3. The pastor's message was weak. He made a couple of good points, but they were hard to find in the middle of a lot of random talk and stories that were simply time-consuming. 4. Our children in the 3-5 year class said they watched TV "to hear from God." They have never said this before, so I can only assume this is a direct quote from their teacher. My daughter said they watched TV for a Bible story (she had no idea what the story was), and they watched several episodes of Bluey. There is no place for this in Children's ministry! Also note, this church is now called "Verve."

After experiencing hypocrisy at other local church, I prayed and was lead to Inland Hills It had been 2 years since I had attended in house church. I am so grateful that I was lead there! I love the worship band and, that the pastor focuses on teaching, NOT HIS POLITICAL VIEW, (like other churches). I love the music, the visual illustrations but most of all the teaching.

Since we moved down from the Bay Area, my family and I had been looking for a church that we could call home. When Pastor Josh first stepped on that stage after being selected to be the Lead Pastor, we instantly found a connection and gravitated to him and his way of delivering the word. He's so passionate about God and teaching all of us how we should really focus on the teachings of Jesus vs. All of the other distractions this world offers. When I talk about Inland Hills at home with my friends and family, I describe it as a place of warmth and welcoming. I really love this place and highly recommend that if you are looking for a place to call "home" to give Josh and his team a chance to help you transform your life and challenge you to think differently. 5 stars!!!!!
