If this is the location with Theodore Allen as an appraiser.....he did a horrific job with my appraisal. My comparables were all around $320,000 to $325,000 and my appraisal came in at $310,000. Not sure why there was such a discrepancy with the amount. The only thing in the appraisal was my house was 2 1/2 baths and the comparables were 3 baths. A tub doesn't make a house worth $10-$15 thousand dollars more.
My loan officer tried contacting Mr. Allen, but Mr. Allen was just insulted and said he's been doing this for 38 years. Apparently, even after doing this for 38 years Mr. Allen still doesn't know what he's doing or doesn't have the common courtesy to hear out the opinions and knowledge of others. I can see why he has a job where he doesn't have to work closely with other people.
I highly recommend using other appraisers and I wish the VA would not use him either. I am considering calling the VA office to complain as well.
