We stumbled upon this hidden trail unexpectedly while driving along Highway 1. The trail offers the option to climb up a set of stairs for a breathtaking viewpoint or venture down to the picturesque coastal area. It's important to exercise caution when parking and ensure that your vehicle is completely off the road, as law enforcement officers are vigilant about issuing tickets in this area.

The trail was mostly washed out while we were there. We went as far as we could though. The beginning of the trail is beautiful and there are a lot of prickly pear cacti to admire. Deeper into the trail there are some redwoods. At the time we were hiking, there were about four to five water crossings that required balancing across a plank to cross. There were also steep portions that required gripping tree roots to keep your footing in order to climb. The loop itself is closed ATM, so you may find that you need to turn back due to trail conditions. Parking: You might have to park quite a ways away from the trail and walk a long the road depending on how busy it is. Restrooms: The bathrooms were a mess when we were there, practically unusable Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on the trail, but currently it would be difficult to complete the loop with a dog as some spots are incredibly steep. Some portions of the trail also require crossing water as well which may be difficult for some dogs.
