i have a problem where my charger starts charging at full power (about 9.4 kw) and minutes later degrades (9.1kw) and then continues to degrade all the way until it hits 4kw. You can imagine how long it takes to charge your car at 4kw compared to full 9.4 (more than double). my charger is about 55 days old. I call support with this issue and it is escalated to level 2 techs. every communication takes minimum 48 hours for a response and sometimes 4-5 days. so it takes nearly a week to have a basic conversation about the issue. nearly three weeks and 2 support cases later they blame my car (hyundai ioniq 5). I am well aware of the issues this car can experience when charging at 48amps where the port can overheat and the bms will degrade the power to 32amps in order to cool the port down before ramping back up again but this isn't my issue. after 6 hours i'm still at 4kw charge speed and it never goes back up. Also my issues happens in under 5 minutes where most people it take 30min to an hour to start. Finally, the dealership was performed all software updates, safety recalls and has even checked the charging port and has found no fault so why is chargepoint overruling the dealerships findings to say my car is the issue and not replacing the unit? Beats me.

Home charger failed 2 months past the 3 year warranty. All their tech support did is suggest that I unplug the charger and plug it back in. Most awful tech support. Given the circumstances I asked if I could get a discount on a replacement charger, but my request was denied. I reluctantly ordered a new charger but after 13 days I noted that it had still not been shipped. I contacted them to cancel the order. One week later I received an email advising me that, even though I cancelled the order, they were still going to ship me the charger and I will have to return it to them at my own expense. Ended up spending $68 for the shipping to return this item. After several hours of troubleshooting the initial charger, I determined that the issue was a network problem, which was not listed in their help section of the ChargePoint website.
