Peet's Coffee

This is my favorite coffee shop. All the Peets locations I have been to are fairly consistent with quality, service, and generally nice environments. But this one has outdoor seating in the popular Pruneyard courtyard, which makes it extra special. Its pleasant to sit under an umbrella and see all the people meeting up, chatting, and generally enjoying the space. There are kids playing in the playground while their parents mingle or sip their coffee. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxed, I go there sometimes to just sit and enjoy, rather than do the remote work Im supposed to be doing :-)

I'm a coffee snob, so Starbucks is basically the McDonald's of the coffee world. Peets has the convenience of Starbucks (having the app) with a bit better crafted coffee. It's still a mass produced coffee experience so there's no love or patience going into it, so it's only a little bit better than Starbucks.

I try to never give a bad review. But the Pruneyard location always has an issue with my order: medium black tie. The ability to get a basic order done at the this location is not great, as has been my experience multiple times in a row. I just want to order, pay, get my very basic drink and leave. They make that hard here.
