The Outpost Steakhouse

Had dinner here tonight for my birthday, and had quite possibly the best prime rib I've ever had, especially for the reasonable price. We were visiting and this place was recommended, glad we went! Not fancy, which I love, perfect atmosphere and great service! Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: My husband can't have dairy or gluten so we requested no butter on our steaks, and the waitress was so careful to ask the cook how everything was prepared. All was perfect!

The chicken piccata was very well prepared. The loaded mashed potatoes were flavorful. The very were a slight disappointment because of they were not hot like the rest of the plate.

Food took forever to come. Even our salads and bread took almost an hour to get to us. We were there for 2 hours and we had gotten our food an hour and a half after we got there. Im not usually impatient, but we were some of the only people in there and there was no excuse for our food to take THAT long. The soup was microwaved. The mashed potatoes tasted good but were chunky. The sirloin was undercooked to my liking but tasted good. Our waitress was nice and they kept the drink refills coming, so Ill give them that. But youre better off cooking your own steak over a match because youd get your food a LOT faster. Im convinced theyre only still in business because Burney is so small and theres nowhere else for people to eat.

Absolutely great food! Wasnt expecting this in such a small town. Only improvement would be having wifi for customers.

Had steak and salmon here for dinner with my wife. Good food and service. Would come back if around the area. The only thing to be aware is that the wait time after you ordered can be a little long.
