Airport Van Rental - San Francisco

Fern was sweet and kind toward everyone, and a big help to us, but she desperately needs help. Service was agonizingly slow. Also, be aware that the office closes at 4:00, so there's no late afternoon or evening shuttle service to the airport from that time. And bring your PROOF OF INSURANCE if you will decline their coverage.

Our rented van was in nit in the best condition. Had oil change light on, wiper blades came off three times. We had a reservation, and at the time to pick up our van, the mean lady in the front desk ( which is falling apart) told us she had no van available, meaning that we waited for a long time to finaly get the vehicle. She pushed and pushed insurance and tolls. We told her we had insurance and was not planning toll roads. She got frustrated. Seems that she gets commission out of it. Be aware of the operation hours, they work limited hours on the day. Oh, they don't pick up the phone, we called them 4 times for them to pick us up, with other customers. We left a message. The only good thing this company has is the chauffeur. His name is Franklin, very nice and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. He apologized for the delay in the pick-up. If course we knew he didn't get the message of people waiting in the airport. All the clients in the lobby at AVR site were frustrated. HORRIBLE place.

Steer clear of this place if you value your sanity. Get yourself an Uber from the airport if you have to rent from this place. Plan on spending at least 90 minutes.

The worst rental car Ive ever driven. Car reeked or stale cigarettes and BO. Car had less than a quarter tank on pickup. Issues with gas gage. Not a smooth drive, It sounded like it needs maintenance. Customer service was terrible. Called twice to express my concerns and both times I was told a manager would get back to me. That never happened. Ended up returning it early. Lady / manager on duty was rude made up excuses trying to discredit my concerns. Totally unprofessional. Whatever you do, dont rent from them!
