Dr.Raymond Tatevossian

TLDR: Good Surgeon for implantable medical devices, terrible experience with everything else. Office staff varies depending on office and degree of adequate training/how long they have been there. No response for an extremely urgent matter after 72 hours. I've seen Dr. T since 2019. As a surgeon I think he is good at that. So if that's all you're looking to use him for then I wouldn't rule him out. He has also gotten MRI's approved for me that no other doctors were able to. As for the rest, my experience has been awful. I got myself off all pain medication that summer (2020) after my medical device implant at home with no written plan. I have been sick and in pain throughout my entire body ever since. After exhausting a bunch of other options, seeing countless doctors and specialists and having insurance that didn't have him in my plan any longer I went to him and paid for another treatment out of pocket to try and get my pain under control. The infusions didn't work and he told me "it wasn't a pain condition". It took my wife calling and making a major fuss for him to give me a referral since he claimed he couldn't treat my pain. The referral was to an amazing Infectious Disease doctor that we believe has finally cracked my case after 15 years. This was March 2023. After working with the new doctor for months and getting a diagnosis I asked the infectious disease doctor he referred me to who should managing my pain and was told that my pain doctor should be so I begrudging made an appointment and saw Dr. T again on again on Jun 5th, 2023. After writing him a letter he agreed to call in some pain medication. Let me remind you that this is months after saying "it isn't a pain condition" and dismissing me telling me he couldn't treat me. I sent the letter Tuesday 6/6 around 2:30pm. The medication got sent to the pharmacy the following Monday 6/9. The prescription was sent straight to a pharmacy in Santa Monica and insurance denied it immediately because they require a pre-authorization be submitted by the physician and he didn't want to take the time and hassle to do it. After calling his office and leaving messages we have received no response. Here I am June 21st still in relentless pain and can't even get a response. If this is acceptable to you and the kind of care you want in your doctor then by all means make an appointment. Called today and to put it nicely lets just say that their staff was dishonest and said they may get in touch with the doctor. I am doing my best to play nice and give them a chance to fix this but after almost 3 weeks Ive pretty much hit my limit. Do yourself a favor and put in the due diligence to research your doctor. Where did they get their degree? Where did they complete their residency? Will they be there for you if the surgery doesn't pan out or help? What is the plan if the procedure/surgery doesnt help? These are all questions I wish I would have dig deeper on.

Its a shame when you go through all that schooling just to deflect patients from actual progression. My mom has been on methadone for over 20 years, 10 mg to be exact. Just like most doctors, he deflected the challenge of getting her off of this by giving us baseless excuses like "i dont want to lose my license" or "shes been on it too long to come off". So then why do people have clinics to come off of higher dosages? The lack of integrity shows. Degrees mean nothing. This doctor doesn't want to be bothered. He just wants to collect your money.

Dr. T. is an excellent doctor, hes very professional he takes his time to listen to his patients & address what is best for the patient. He is caring & have been managing my pain for a little over 2 yrs now. Im thankful for all his staff @ the office his NP Jonathan is super & professional as well. In general all the office staff are awesome.

Dr T is "on the ball all the time" I wonder how he never gets tired out. I've had great results and avoided surgery.
