I've been popping into the shop over the last year or two because I've been planning to remodel all of the windows and doors in my house. The showroom has a great selection of options for me to look at and the staff is nice and knowledgeable. Everyone in the office is busy at work and it's great how there is always someone that can break away from the desk to answer my questions. This company employs really nice people! They've helped me pick the right EMTEK door knobs/locks and thresholds (which have held me over while I waited to go all in on my project) and I am really looking forward to putting in my order this spring for the whole project They have been so patient with me and if there is a wait time on installation (and I think there will be because they are always busy busy) then it's worth it to me because I know they know what they are doing.

The reason to pay these high-end prices is for high-end service and quality products. I learned the hard way this store does not provide that: The first door lock we bought came with the wrong keyset (they blamed the manufacturer, but it's pretty clear they forgot to specify the key # in the original order). The replacement lock was flawed (one screw head came off before the screw was all the way in, and a 2nd screw would not go it more than halfway no matter how much force was applied). The store manager refuses to order a replacement for what he acknowledged is a defective unit. The manager says we should have figured out how to 'frankenstein' the two units together to come up with one working unit. He also added, about the 2nd unit, "we rethread the screw shafts all the time," though he later acknowledged this is not something he would logically expect a homeowner to have the specialized tools required to do. So the manager conceded the original unit was the wrong key. And they acknowledged the 2nd unit was defective. But now they say they never should have provided the 2nd unit and are refusing to replace it. (Apparently the manager's mad at the sales person about the original mix-up and then for providing a replacement unit instead of just a replacement lock shaft, and so he's taking it out on us.) The reason to pay these high-end prices is for high-end service and quality products. This is not the store for that.
