image Front desk office personal is ridiculous! Contacted them on 1/14 and  since I WAS going to be a patient verification of insurance need it to be verified, didn't hear from them, so I decided to call them again on  01/15, the took my information, but still FAILED to contact me. Take in mind it's been 10 days, so I contacted them again on 01/24 twice!!! The from office girl (Irene) stated it only takes 30 mins to verify! Really 30 mins! and it's been 10 days for me! How ridiculous!

image I was referred here by another one of my doctors as they weren't able to get me in on such short notice and the aren't a primary care provider anyway. First of all, I was diagnosed with strep and given antibiotics for strep, but Dr. Rubinstein took a culture and called me a week later to let me know that as it turns out, I did not have strep. I was glad I trusted my gut instinct and didn't take the antibiotics as I would have unnecessarily exposed myself to antibiotics potentially limiting future effectiveness of said antibiotics. The office is VERY old school. I don't think they have computers, but I am not sure of this. The wait time to make payment so I could get a receipt was obscenely long. I had a half a mind to leave, but really needed the receipt for reimbursment. They gave me a hand written receipt to submit to my HSA for reimbursement. Some additional items of note - they don't take credit or debit card payments (cash or check only). They billed me for an amount higher than allowed by my insurance provider, when I called this to the receptionist's attention, she said, "okay, just pay that amount then." Had I not looked at the statement my insurance company sent me, I would have paid what they billed me for. This feels unethical. To each his own, but this was not the doctor for me, I won't be back.

image Dr. Rita and Karen and the nurse are so nice. Dr. Rita is so thorough and considerate. She doesn't hurry the visit and she really listens to the patient. I've been visiting there since 2011.

image Summary: The doctor is nice, the nurse is nice, the receptionist is awful, the wait time is dreadful, and you can probably find a better practice elsewhere.PROS: *The nurse is very sweet.  She's funny and is very good at distracting you while she's drawing blood.  *The doctor asks a ton of questions, which I like because it shows she's actually gathering data and not just jumping to conclusions.  She takes her time with you, you won't feel rushed when you're seeing her.CONS: *The office can be hard to find and is in a run down building in desperate need of new carpet and furniture from this century.*I waited for 30 minutes in the examination room after the nurse left before the doctor finally came in.*The receptionist is colder than cold.*The receptionist is also apparently a therapist.  She answers phone calls from needy patients and delves into their medical and personal lives with them for all to hear.  Whether we like it or not. You might say this is a good quality because it shows how much she cares about the patients. But a receptionist desk is no place to discuss the fact that you're missing a uterus.  That's right, missing a uterus.  A mental image I'll scarcely be able to erase. (Sorry to share it with you, fellow Yelper.) *The receptionist is also rubbish at coordinating appointments.  I arrived at 4:10, 5 minutes early for my appointment.  I made eye contact with the receptionist and gave her a little wave.  Cue frosty glance.  I ignored the lack of greeting and signed in.  I then commenced to sit completely ignored in the waiting room for the next 50 minutes.  All the while listening to the receptionist yak on the phone.  She looked over at me more than once and even picked up the sign-in sheet to look at my name. Then she continued to yak.  About 20 minutes in, a patient left.  Surely, I thought, they'll see me now.  The minutes ticked by.  The yaking continued.  Still nothing.  I'll stop with the dramatic telling of this tale and cut to the chase; I was there with my husband who is a full time student.  He needed to get to class.  After we hit the 50 minute mark, we got up and headed for the door.  I made eye contact with the receptionist and gave her a little wave goodbye.  She put down the phone long enough to pick up the sign-in sheet and asked, "Have you been seen by the doctor?"  "Nope."  "Oh."  "Yeah, I've been waiting here for nearly an hour and I can't wait for you guys to see me anymore.  My husband is a full time student and I'm gonna make him late. So, goodbye."  "Oh ok, I'll call you to reschedule then."  "Sure."  No apologies from her.  They weren't even seeing anyone, there were no patients back there!  They were literally sitting on their hands waiting around for the office to close.  And what made things worse, I was there to get the results on an important blood test.  And I had moved my schedule at work so I could make it to my appointment on time.  The doctor called me later that evening and left a voicemail apologizing profusely. That's the only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1.
