Plaskett Creek Campground

Ive been camping across California for 23 years. Besides a few gross bathrooms and dirty campsites its all been very positive. Ive camped at Plasket probably 6x now. This was the first time ever Ive encountered genuinely rude camp host. The first negative encounter occurred when checking in. Upon finishing our conversation I said, by the way you have a beautiful German Shepard. The host rolled her eyes and literally slammed the door in my face. I tallied it up as someone having a bad day. Later that day when walking from group site 1 to group site 2 to use the bathroom (Ive used this bathroom every occasion Ive been there without issue) I noticed it was locked. I saw the host at group site 3 bathroom and walked up and asked if I may use the restroom or if he was in the process of cleaning it as it appeared. He responded harshly, These bathrooms arent for you! I explained I was in group site 1 (no adjacent bathrooms and these bathrooms are 50 and 100yds away). He responded, like I said these bathrooms arent for you. Only group site 2 & 3 can use them. He explained that we were supposed to walk 200-300 yards to the main bathrooms in the middle of the camp ground, despite paying the same amount as group site 2 &3. Upon going there I learned that only 1 of the 4 bathroom stall doors were even unlocked by the camp hosts and I had to patiently wait in line (>30 camps for 1 restroom) and to top it off the sink was broken/wrapped in plastic. I met another nice couple that has been camping here for years who were also outraged at the single unlocked restroom and who had also gotten negativity and attitude from the current camp hosts. I love this campsite, but be warned the current camp hosts are very rude and on a power trip.

The place is nice, a short walk to the beach Good if you go for a hike in the Big Sur

This is a park like campground, with walking distance to the beach and hiking trails that are on a bluff that are just spectacular.
