I had an overall great experience at Potters Mtn. Sports. Trevor, the owner, is a very nice guy and is reasonable with pricing. I was also surprised to see bathing suits which were actually really cheap. The suits came in sets instead of buying a two piece separately.

We recently booked our ski equipment online with Potter Mountain Sports. Unfortunately, our in-person experience was bad enough to recommend not using their service. Here's why: 1. Store Opening Delay: We arrived about 15 minutes before opening. Unfortunately, an employee didn't show up for work, and I had to call the shop phone number to get the shop owner to come in. Despite leaving LA before dawn, this one-day ski trip was off to a late start. 2. Customer Service: The situation escalated when I asked for a discount for the inconvenience caused by the delay. The owner lost it. He muttered and shouted at me from across the store. It caught me off guard and unsettled the three kids in our group; three weeks later, it's their primary story from our ski day. 3. Degrading Decor: Adding to the off-putting atmosphere of the store, the store walls were covered with degrading posters of women. Even the teenage boys with me were offended. 4. Equipment Issues: On a positive note, the skis we rented were decent enough to warrant a second star, though the owner did fail to provide the ski poles that were part of my rental package. Conclusion: With so many locations renting equipment in Big Bear, I don't see any reason to choose this one.
