I love ramen so maybe Im too picky but this ramen was meh, service was meh, dining was meh, why does it cost $20 for a meh bowl of ramen.

This place is getting a lot of conflicting reviews, either 1 or 5 and that probably makes a lot of people confused. One thing to realize is all food in Big Bear is overpriced almost like at an amusement park. So youre practically paying a resort town tax which means the price of food isnt necessarily reflective of the quality. This isnt a 15$ dish its more like a 10$ or less somewhere else down the hill. A bigger problem that has happened twice now is there are not enough seats when its busy. What are you suppose to do with a hot bowl of soup without anywhere to sit? Are you suppose to stand in the middle of the restaurant just holding it? They may have to hold off on new eat in orders until there are seats available. They will try to tell you to order at the self ordering Kiosk which is fine unless you want to modify your order. Dont want onions or want to change something - you cant. Another issue is there is going to be an inconsistency because of the lack of reliable staff in Big Bear sometimes the stores, especially this one are not open when they say they are. That being said I enjoy the food and have been back 4-5 times. There isnt really many other options for this type of food besides Dynasty Chinese food (great) and a new Pho place that just opened (okay-good) I dont eat meat so I cant comment in the quality or taste but the crispy tofu is really some of the best Ive had. I would recommend eating here but definitely temper you expectations especially when it comes to the price. Its like that everywhere up here. If you want the best bang for your buck go to Oakside. The prices there are justified and the service is stellar. I think that is what is accounting for the mixed reviews - the price. Again, its like that almost everywhere in Big Bear. They have some kinks to work out but its a great addition to the village and mountain.

Business Response on Google Mar 23rd, 2024
Thank you for bringing up such honest and unbiased review. You've pointed out a lot of perspectives that 99% of people don't know. We have several established restaurants down the mountain and big bear crowd is definitely hit or miss. We did have handful of customers who were from Orange County, San Diego, and LA that loved our food and came up to told us about it. It's grateful to be in the restaurant business because we care for customers like that. Not so much the negative ones but it's part of the business. Once again, thank you for putting your thoughts into a such constructive review and we appreciate you!!We will continue to do our best and please let us know what else we can improve on!
