We can't recommend Derek enough! As first time home buyers, he was very thorough teaching us the ins and outs. His introductory packet was very thorough, but he stepped up above and beyond spending hours making sure we were comfortable before we even started the house search. He was patient when even we didn't know what we wanted, and made gentle suggestions to help guide us to potential options. When we did settle on a home, his local knowledge and negotiation skills landed us a deal that went beyond the initial concessions we were willing to make! Derek was great to work with. When we first started house hunting with Derek, he was super responsive, was constantly available to give us advice, and made arrangements for house showings around our schedules. Most importantly to me, I never felt that I was being sold to. Derek never tried to convince us to put offers on homes and never pushed us to increase our bids to make a sale. Instead, he was patient with us and gave us (objective) advice only when we asked for it or when we were at an impasse. He equipped us with thought exercises to decide whether a home was a home for us. When we actually put an offer down on a beautiful home, again he never pressured us during the negotiation process but gave us great advice on the market and what was reasonable. We ended up getting a great deal on the house. He walked us through the whole buying process and pulled on his network when we needed help (e.g. with financing). Though we were grateful for his referrals, he never pressured us to use them and was flexible with being able to work with folks that we shopped for. Working with Derek was a great experience. Though I think we've gotten our forever home with his help, I would not hesitate to call on him again for any real estate needs.
