Employee yelled at me repeatedly after he almost hit my car with a forklift. They try to overcharge you when they calculate board feet. The lumber is never stacked well and the prices are outrageous, both on lumber and tools.

Tally guys use lumber scaling rules that exaggerate the BF (by 30% for a board I was looking at today). For you nitpickers, the board was S2S, 1 3/4" thick, 8' long, exactly 4 inches wide (R2S). So we call it 8/4 material. But there is no convention for the width - this is hardwood. I got 5.33 BF. They said 7. (This is from doubling the read number due to it being 8/4, thereby doubling the error.) Board had a major flaw I said call it 5 BF how bout it. Manager said 6. Passed on the old don't-get-taken-if-you-can-avoid-it principle. Shortsighted attitude for a business but - much worse - fraud. Rules in hardwood are: you buy the actual rough equivalent BF. Rich hobby guys or pros yawning and passing on costs must be rating this place. Btw, I first went in here >30 y/a and used to buy regularly. [Moore Newton has somewhat better wood IME, much more of it, and the guys on the floor can use their judgement - and a tape! I've always found them very helpful with a great attitude.]
