All Bay Diesel LLC

Was towed here by AAA on a road trip. The location in berkeley is where we were dropped off. We slept in our truck on the street only to wake up and realize that the shop was not located here. They havent changed their address. So we get towed to the actual shop in Oakland. I told them very specific symptoms and said that it was an injector stuck open. (Duramax LLY) They said they can get me in and will call when they figure it out. Well two full days later I get a call saying yeah its not fuel injector its rod knock. But We rebuild engines here. I panicked and made posts asking for duramax help with videos and symptoms and 100% of replies said injector. We got back to the shop at 530 (their website says they close at 6) and they said they were closed. Barely caught the shop owner in time. I wanted to see what he had to say, so I said so now what? He said yeah its rod knock again. I asked if the balance rates were all good and he couldnt tell me the rates, he just said ya theyre fine. I said I want my truck back. And the owner left before I even fired it up. I took my truck back, limped it home to CANADA / towed over 400 miles of the trip. Got home changed #7 injector and it runs mint again. All bay diesel tried to screw me into an engine rebuild when it just needed an injector, like I said, and like I easily found out on my own when I got home. Be careful! They probably do good work, and have good mechanics, but be careful what you are paying for !!! I almost got ripped off for thousands of dollars. I would have been happy to pay for a few new injectors and the labor and be on with my trip. But we got screwed! Update : put about 50,000kms on the truck since this incident. Truck runs mint still.

Their team here is the best. I was expecting a repair job of 10-15k for a big leak that required pulling the engine in my F250 w/ over 300K miles on it. Two days later, the job was done for under 2k. The truck is running great. He saved me a lot, and I'll be back for any diesel repair or rebuild that I'll need in the future.

Kyle has been the mechanic for our recycling fleet now for at least 16 years. He and his team are expert mechanics, warm, personable and have rock solid integrity. You wont find a better company to work with. We are grateful to be a customer.
