I love this place. The vegan pastries are delicious and the espresso is good. I just wish they were open later. I'm usually in Berkeley in the afternoon and they're either closed soon or closed already. Vegetarian options: Vegan!

The staff was super friendly and gave me the best explanation of different coffees I've heard ever. Very helpful as I've never fully understood the differences before

Perfect bakery and cafe for delicious treats (pizza rolls, cream cheese danishes, donuts, cookies, chocolate truffles, you name it!) and killer coffee. Cannot recommend more, just go, you'll love it. They also do cakes you can get for special occasions and they're insanely good!

I used to come here EVERY weekend for 2 years. I had to get there before they opened to get in line or there chocolate croissants would be sold out. Fast forward to the last 3 times I've been here recently, and I can no longer purchase any pastries. The croissants are completely soggy and spongy. They are no longer crispy, flakey and fluffy. If that wasn't enough, the tops used to be about 50% covered in a thick dark chocolate drizzle. Now, it's about 3 or 4 thin lines of chocolate. The lack of this extra chocolate really detracts from what used to be an amazing overall flavor. (Rant warning) I'm no longer supporting mediocre vegan businesses. It is NOT good for the movement to have such under par establishments succeed, let alone thive. This does not encourage non vegans to try vegan food. It does not encourage a high standard to succeed. In the bay area basically any "all vegan" business can thrive as long as their food is at the very least edible. NYC, LA, Washington DC all had better vegan food and pastries at EVERY place we went. How can any random spot in these other cities beat the very best it the bay? I'm voting with my dollars only on the best of the best in the bay area from now on. *** (Original review 5 years ago) Best vegan coffee shop ever! They have crazy good pastries and cakes, full or by the slice. Fair prices, friendly service and its all vegan. I go here when ever I'm in the area for a quick bite or if I need some sweets. Ive had a cake that was amazing from thier other Oakland location. Thanks guys for the all vegan goodness.
