A few months before the pandemic...we were planning on rebuilding our pool. We received a bid and planned on moving forward. It was put on hold due to COVID. The lockdown was lifted in June & in August we stopped by their office to pick a few tiles. They are speciality hand painted tiles so I asked for samples & an updated quote. We were told they were booked until March. I never heard back about the samples or an updated quote. In January I again asked about ordering the tile samples, an updated quote, and when they could start. He came out to look at the pool again and then brought a concrete contractor to measure the deck. I didn't hear back so I went ahead and got 3 other quotes. One of the contractors got inside of the pool and tore a piece of the fiberglass liner. I have an older home and a very odd pool. It's built with cinderblock retaining structure and a huge liner was dropped in with a crane. Only one pool company had seen one this old and explained how it was built. I took pictures of the cinderblock walls under the liner and sent them to Rockbottom. I told him..its not structurally sound and has to be completely torn out. His plan was to build a new pool in that structure. All of the other companies refused to build like he had suggested. The pool is completely cracked in half. Planning will Not permit a pool built within a cracked in half pool that was leaking plus we didn't want it any smaller. I relayed that information. I asked again for a bid and what the hold up was. I finally received my bid...Im pretty sure it was a quote for another customer...it was not the features we asked for and it did not include the pool being torn out. I again emailed him requesting a bid what we discussed and cc in their other basic email for quotes...hoping someone else would contact us. He actually doubled down on building the pool within the existing structure and said its to code and that we didn't need permits since it's a remodel! I never got a bid for what we wanted and never heard back. It was their bid to lose and they did. Edit- You're wise for deleting your response. I will gladly post screenshots proving my claim.
