I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy done by Dr. Buxton in Dec 2022 and I had to take an ambulance to the hospital the next day. I didnt know it when I woke up from surgery, but my cystic duct was damaged in the procedure. I called Millennium and his office several times that day because of how much pain I was in but I was only prescribed more pain medicine and was told it was normal. The next day I was in agony and headed to the ER. I was hospitalized for 5 days because I became septic and had a bile leak that needed another surgery to fix. I now have thousands in hospital + ambulance bills that he and the facility are not helping me pay, all because of his surgery on me. Please do your research before booking here.

Had a procedure done...everyone from the check-in, to the pit crew, to the recovery, was absolutlutely wonderful. Such a great, happy, healthy, wellness atmosphere. State of the art facility, but the people made it greater.

I find it odd that this place is still trying to collect social security numbers by claiming it is required to bill the insurance company. That is flat out incorrect and no insurance company ever requires a patient to give their social security number in order to be covered. It is especially concerning in this day and age of identity theft. I did not give them mine. I would have liked to have given them at least four stars as the nurse who took care of me in pre-op was good at her job and obviously cared for her patients. After I got home I found out that the doctors office had sent my rx to the wrong side of town (no one told us this when we left millenium). And it turned out the pain meds ordered were on mfg backorder----how did they not know this when they deal with it ever day? Trying to get the rx sent to the right pharmacy and getting a different script was a nightmare. Millennium blew me off by telling me it wasn't their problem and when I asked why they bothered to collect the name of your preferred pharmacy on check in, they had no answer. Turns out I had an allergic reaction to the pain meds and was puking all night. When they called the next day I tried to explain that I was in pain and puking. I was told to go buy motrin and eat saltines. The woman who called had zero compassion. Yes they were cheaper than going to Memorial for the sx but there seems to be a trade off. Now I'm heading to the ER because of the pain. This just shows how much difference one individual can affect a patient's care negatively. As the owner of a veterinary hospital in BakersfieldI I was shocked at how badly human patients are treated when compared to how compassionately veterinarians treat their patients. Wish i could have had this surgery done at the vet hospital as we treat dogs better and don't allow them to suffer.
