This person wanted us to loan him our parts until he could order is own part to install himself, He was quoted a repair cost with labor included with part, our parts are marked up to include our overhead for us to operate, Fuel Costs, General Liability , our Bond, Workers Comp, Fleet payments for our service vehicles, auto insurance, employees hourly rate and insurance benefits etc. We are very transparent, He agreed for the repair after full disclosure and then after repair asked for us to refund his money, I offered to refund him in full giving him the option to go to our competitor, we would uninstall the part we replaced and be on our way, he didn't want that as a option, he told me to loan him the part our he would leave a bad review, I told him that I felt like that is blackmail and that we don't buy reviews, he is entitled to his opinion and if he checked with our competitors in California it is especially high for the cost to run business in this state. I still stand by how we conducted ourselves and would like to end saying he was told prior to our repair what we charge for this part with our labor and overhead included he agreed and then had a change of heart and felt entitled to a refund with us giving him our part to be used by him for free while he waited to buy the part and do the repair himself,, I don't know any company that would agree to his terms but I know some would feel bullied to his threats that he will leave a bad review knowing that could harm a family business who is trying to earn a living. The $98.00 was the time needed to get tools out and to run through the system to diagnosis the problem, this covers the drive time and techs time for diagnosis, This is also disclosed prior to scheduling.
