UPDATE 2/2023 - Eddie Estrada Flooring replaced the Carpet Cave floor and were great! (See Photos) Vinyl floor buckled and unglued from high moisture. Carpet Cave installer didnt test for moisture or treat the concrete. I filed a home insurance claim. American Leak Detection didnt find a leak and listed the cause of damage as improper flooring installation. Claim was therefore denied. I asked Carpet Cave to reinstall with proper moisture treatment since the leak detection determined improper installation. Carpet Cave says I have a leak. My floor planks lift right up. Im looking at filing a claim in court and its a lot of legwork. During the inspection by Jean and manufacturer rep, the rep asked Jean if Jaime, the installer had performed a moisture test. Jean said he didnt know and had no way of verifying because of the fire that destroyed his business. My wife recalls asking Jaime to do the moisture test before installation and Jaime declined, explaining that due to the houses recent construction it wouldnt need moisture treatment. Jean and the rep explained that because I had carpet and tile for the 12 years since the home was built it would have breathed better than laminate and therefore I would not have detected excess moisture. I have not seen any record of a moisture test done before Carpet Caves installion by Jaime. I paid Eddie Estrada Flooring to fix the mess. They did a great job! (See photos)

I filed a claim with my home insurance company for floor detaching, they sent American Leak Detection who said the floor issue was due to improper installation, so insurance company won't cover replacement. Carpet Cave claims they moisture tested, but there's no record and we recall asking for it and the installer saying we didn't need it because the house was relatively new. The floor sounds like horses clomping around when we walk. I guess it's a good alarm system. Filing with small claims is a boatload of paper work so I'm looking at a complaint with the state contractor's license board. It boils down to whether or not Carpet Cave moisture tested and prepped the floor or if my concrete slab suddenly became wet after a proper installation.(For fun I pulled up about forty planks and put them in the sun to flatten them out. It seems to work for a while but when they cool the warp returns.)
