They lied. They neglected to deduct their own fees from the tax returns. Shocking. They grossly overcharged. Lou admitted that the excessive work should never have been done in the first place. Lou promised a refund of $3280.00 Then they argued!!! Then they said no refund. What a skanky way to do business!!!I couldn't proceed without a star or I surely would not have submitted one.

BHK has been preparing my taxes for many years. I believe they are the most well-rounded and diverse firm in Bakersfield. They can prepare corporate, personal, and even international returns. My individual CPA Ron Dill is very experienced and is always accessible to answer my questions. They can do it all. They are even training my wife on Quicken!

I've been paying 3 times what these guys charge for a LA company and after meeting with Michael Stevenson at the firm I found out I was not getting my taxes done right and everything that had been said at the other place wasn't done and I was on my way to a IRS audit. ( My banker had said the same thing - which is why I was looking for some one new -so I know it wasn't a sales pitch )  Thank heavens I found these guys. Michael spent an hour with me just answering questions about how to run my business . He was clear cut and made things very simple. I feel a complete sense of relief now and feel I am in good hands. :))

In the past year or two, I have become more aware of Barbich Hooper King as they are the outside auditors for my current employer. Not only are they very responsive to email and phone calls, but I've come to trust their judgment with financial statements, etc. I have little to no knowledge of their tax department, but I would vouch for Geoff King and the rest of the audit department. Mind you, I am a certified public accountant (CPA) as well, so that judgment isn't just some Joe Schmo from the street, I have the same license as the auditors that audit my company.
