They ate this up!!! Only place in arcata that makes it feel like SoCal, I love the ambiance! The place is decorated so cuteee, I love the lighting and music!! The servers are also so nice and are baddies. Shout out to them. My food was delicious too, I absolutely devoured my burrito and so did my man. Will be coming back again!!!! Also they should definetley do a bingo night bc I would definitely go!

Excellent food! A bit pricey for my taste but everything is going up in price. Had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with chips and honey butter on the side. Chicken piece was huge! Had excellent flavor! I put the honey butter on my chicken, yummmmmmyyyyyy! The chips stayed crispy throughout my meal! I believe it's better than Salt in arcata. Plus, it's outside in the warm sun with the winery sharing the same space (also serves non-alcoholic drinks, thank goodness!) A+ Vegetarian options: Can order vegetation options and add animal proteins if you wish. Kid-friendliness: There was a child there. Happy kiddo

Went by today on a whim for lunch with my boyfriend and wow was I ever surprised. This was one of the best dishes I have personally had in years. You can feel the love and care they put into their food. I had the portobello mushroom steak bowl, and my boyfriend got the fried chicken sandwich. Everything in the bowl and sandwhich was cooked perfectly. The touch of the plantain with the pickled onions with the Chimichurri sauce ontop of the mushroom was pure bliss. If youre thinking about going here, dont hesitate. The owners were some of the sweetest people I have met in the food industry and life. 10/10 for everything. I am super happy with what I got.

This is the best food in Arcata, without it question. Its flavorful and nourishing, with great vegetarian options. My favorite is the Havana bowl, but the vegan cornbread and immunity boosting soup are also amazing.

Mothers cooking has a special place in my heart and I will recommend them to anyone always. If you are looking for something very different from other places here. This is a perfect place. Its an Afro Cuban fusion and you can literally taste the love. I am not kidding. There some much flavor in every dish they have. And I glove flavor personally. Mamma mo and Alby are vibrant and caring people who love and care about what they do and the service they provide. They make you feel welcome. I had Mothers cooking cater my graduation and they did some Caribbean food (puerto rican/ Dominican style). It was the most delectable and sentimental layout I have had.there were no leftovers. It reminded me of my grandma and her cooking at that held a special place in my heart. Look out for specials when they have them because you 100% want to catch those when you can. Momma mo , she knows what shes doing.
