Nelco is suing against the Measure B1 parcel tax which is there to support local schools. What an insult to the local community! AUSD has been underfunded ever since the Navy base was closed, and we are simply trying to keep programs like sports and STEAM afloat.
Instead of pitching a fit about a relatively minor expense, I wish Nelco would drop the expensive lawsuit and become an asset to this community instead of a drawback. Our students only get one shot at public education, and they NEED a good education to become productive citizens. If you think that's expensive, take a good hard look at the relative cost of jail time or welfare.
