I worked there at the beginning when it first opened up, and I got fired because I asked to go home after stating I wasnt feeling well. I also wasnt paid my last paycheck and no W-2. Owner, Emily was very rude and controlling towards teaching and holding children even though one doesnt have experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! Theres an investigation going.

This review is specifically in regard to the business practices and treatment I experienced while my child attended. The majority of the staff were good until the original director (not the owner) and her assistant left. Up to that point, I had only been taking my child there for a few months. In that time, the owner insisted my child was autistic - having no medical license - repeatedly tried to give me unasked for "tips" on how to raise my child. I admit, she had a rough transition from being with me full-time at home to full-time daycare. The staff were as helpful as they could be, so I can't fault them. Then, the closings, illnesses, and constant shortness of staff got to be more than a nuisance. I am understanding of this to an extent, but it became nearly weekly that my child would be sent home "for a fever" without having one. Or they'd close early due to "power outage" and water being off. It happened a lot more than inconvenient mishaps. I suspect it was the staff trying to manage their ratios being off, a lot. Then, there was the price hike. That was the number one reason I pulled my child as soon as I found other care for them. The pricing system is "income based" so if you don't get vouchers for childcare, you were probably paying an arm and a leg. I started her there with the full-time price being $600, for my income bracket. I should note, this was already a bit above the prices at other facilities in the area. Highly recommended ones, at that. This one was new and a bit on the expensive side, but as childcare is hard to come by in this area without being on a waitlist, I took it. Then, two months later, the owner arbitrarily decided that she needed to raise the prices, targeting those leaving their kids until 5-5:30 (when they close). She changed the pricing, stating that the "regular tuition" covered only 7am to 3pm, school hours. Anything after 3pm would accrue a $5 an hour charge, per day. So, for me, a full-time 8-5 worker, that was either an extra $300 OR they could add a monthly charge for full-time "after hours" which was still an EXTRA $200 more than the $600 I was already paying. So, to recap that, I was now paying $800 a month for a toddler to attend from 8a-5p, m-f. All the owner seemed to care about was the dollar signs, and regular, full-time working parents were gouged for it. Or perhaps she needed the extra money to pay legal costs for the writ of eviction she was dealing with in Jacksonville/ NLR. Either way, I was now paying over $220, at least, more than the going rate for my child's age at any other establishment. I mentioned earlier the constant closings, making the base price not worth it because they didn't discount for their constant closings. The added price was laughable, especially considering the fact they were closed constantly. If I had the average, uncaring boss (which I do not) I would've quickly been let go after barely getting to start because of the constant closings or late starts and early ends. I cannot personally speak on the current staff, as I pulled my child as soon as I could after the original director and her assistant walked. Then, the firings and others quitting. You could tell that the original staff were trying their best with what they were given. Toward the end before the exodus, you could tell the staff were tired and seemed brow-beaten. I fully believe, having met the owner a few times and NOT getting a good vibe from her at any point, that the problems were definitely originating at the top. The owner likes to portray herself as a child expert, though what credentials she has for that, I've no idea. The best I could do when in conversation with her, ever, was smile and nod as she told me how to parent my own kid. That she either only saw in passing or was told about from the director. I held off writing this, as shortly after I pulled my child the facility closed and it seemed unnecessary. It seems that they've either opened again, or are trying to...
