Absolutely unbelievable how SSA warns everyone consistently of Scammers impersonating SSA then they fail to identify themselves and say that's their protocol in protecting themselves. It's a brilliant strategy. They keep many people who think they're avoiding a Scammer from completing necessary steps. No reason in the world to believe an out of state cell phone number is actually Social Security. Or someone who won't give your their name when asked. Or a phone line that goes straight to a box with nothing to identify where or whom you're calling back. I literally thought someone had my child's information and that I needed to report it. How am I the one who ends up apologizing for this? Since when does a Government office act so Shady while they tell you beware of Shady. They outsource other states to Arkansas and it took me 4 calls to confirm this. Also told daily many people react the same way I did.

This office has been in charge of my SSI case and it's been pending on just the first decision for over 14 months. Hold times are atrocious, usually over an hour. Very frustrated.

I applied for disability from Oregon June 2022. My case was sent to Arkansas for medical determination in Aug. 2022. I am still waiting with no answer. It is Sept 12, 2023. No results.
