    The only reason I'm giving them a one is because I can't do a zero. I absolutely hate Windstream customer support. I would rather pull all of my teeth out with pliers and chew glass than ever have to talk to them again. And this is me being nice about it.

  • MegaStar Financial

    A branch employee at MegaStar Financial Corp. (MegaStar) was solicited by Windstream Communications (Windstream) to upgrade the existing telephonic services; to their newest telephonic service. Windstream solicitation was an upgrade in service to replace the current services It is noted that Windstream: 1) Does not have a valid contract as a non-authorized employee signed the agreement. 2) The employee was solicited to move from an older system to a newer system. The employee was assured verbally and in writing that the old agreement would be cancelled if the employee agreed to purchase the new system that was being solicited by Windstreams representative. 3) The employee agreed to sign the new agreement with the understanding this was an upgrade and the old system and contract would be void. Windstream continued to bill for the first and second agreement despite what Windstreams had communicated to MegaStar. The representative of Windstream informed MegaStar that upon the new service going live, the existing service ends. No termination fee for the existing service. Therefore, MegaStar was assured that the existing account, would be cancelled upon the switch to OfficeSuite, the new service. This did not occur. On August 26, 2022 MegaStars General Counsel sent Windstream a letter disputing the double charges and detailing the situation of double billing. MegaStar requested that Windstream void the first contract and cease the payment demands for the replaced original agreement. Windstream nor its legal counsel replied to MegaStar, but the legal counsel Windstream retained ceased in its demand efforts; by Altus Receivables Management. Therefore the matter was deemed resolved. 17 months later Windstream is again attempting to collect on an invalid debt; The old account should have been cancelled upon the effective date of June 25, 2021 for the new service. This appears to be a bait and switch type situation and it needs to be resolved immediately. In addition to ceasing its collection efforts, MegaStar requests that the overpayments paid to Windstream, be refunded to MegaStar and the matter concluded.

    I have been an internet professional since the mid 1990s and having Windstream as my ISP has been one of the worst vendor experiences in all that time. When I started service with Windstream in 2022 my monthly bill was $79.14. In the subsequent two years there have been three price increases, but no increase in connectivity speed. My most recent bill was a staggering $166.43 -- just for internet! No phone, no TV service. I received no notification of this price increase. I cancelled service immediately and went with another provider that is ~20% of the cost of Windstream yet provides a faster download speed! My Windstream monthly bill increased ~210% in two years. We've also had multiple outages and Windstream did not provide the level of service they initially promised. Find an alternative provider. A dismal experience.
