Stay clear of Shelter. Claims department phone etiquette is horrible. I called to verify a stale check with all the information and was served up attitude; of course it was all sarcastic tone a lot like a teenager from a middle aged woman. Ma'am, if you hate your job, please stay away from the phone that has customers on the line.

Trash claims handling. If you're ever in an accident where their insured is at fault, they will do anything and everything to avoid compensating you for your loss.

These people take your money every month if you have insurance with them but when you involve in accidents, they dont pay for your expenses. They dont read laws, they dont care if you are right. All they care is money and they will do anything to no pay you. I was involved in car accident and Shelter Insurances adjuster didnt pay me even though its was their drivers fault. They didnt care about their drivers fault but they denied my claim. I sued them and I won. Now they are paying me. If you are In similar situation with shelter, dont be afraid to sue this insurance company. Thats the only way they will pay you.
