Site of Historic Fort Steele

One of the good works of the Arkansas Sesquicentennial Commission was the placement of informative markers across the state. One such marker is here, the site of the Federal Army during the occupation of Arkansas during the Civil War. Being a Civil War buff, I was amazed to learn about this site, especially considering I lived just a block south of here when I first moved to Little Rock several years ago. It's good to see the City of Little Rock embrace its Civil War history.
