When Dr. Ahmad was here at the clinic, it was slow progress to get in to see him, but you felt like he knew you. He put you on meds that helped with your multiple conditions. After Dr. Ahmad lost his license, the staff was in constant flux-- including the doctors. You never knew who you would see when the door opened! I liked Dr. Ahmad. He was no pill mill doctor, as he was made to appear. He was trying to help us with our pain. If people are addicted to opioids, it is nobody's fault but their own. You can control how you take them. You can learn how to function with pain, and block some out. Now, it seems that Dr. Shajaat has become our regular physician. Dr. Shajaat is a very good, and caring physician. The longer I get to know him, the more I like him. He smiles, has a little small talk with you. He is young. Hopefully, he will be with us for years. If you like to be treated like a child by the 'Office 'Manager' then you are in luck! Because Kash, who is at the front desk, is rude. He always manages to make you feel like you are holding up every one from seeing the doctor! Having been an Administrative Assistant, as well as worked in a a few medical offices, I know the job. I also know that you don't treat the clients/patients as problems. No matter how bad you feel or they act. AS A PROFESSIONAL, you never speak to them rudely, or take out your misery at having a job you obviously hate!! Without US IN THAT WAITING ROOM, the doctors would have NO need for you or your attitude. The young man who does the labs, urine test cup--which by the way, you will now do EACH MONTH WHEN YOU VISIT!--(used to be 3-4 months), weight, BP, pulse Ox, is named Dill. He is nicer than Kash, but has begun to pick up his 'rush-rush, hurry-hurry' babel. There is no "exam". No touching of the patient's body by the doctor at all. Never has been. I imagine that Dr. Shajaat will do the same. But that just means that my painful, deteriorating spine, is not being monitored by MRIs, X rays, eyeballs, palpation, or any other means. This is very concerning to me. It adds to the depression, as you have signed a contract to not seek pain care from another physician, but the one whom you are seeing is not going to look at your aching body parts. Be sure to arrive early or close to on time. It doesn't mean that you will be seen then--- it is after all, a waiting room----, but "Office Manager" Kash, will be more than happy to exercise his authority and penalize you by either fining you $25 or $50, depending upon how late you are! You can expect to spend about 2.5 to 3 hours in the office, in one or the other of the two waiting rooms. But you won't be alone! The front waiting area is usual filled with other desperate people who are also in as much pain as you are. I wish that every DEA agent, official and all the rest that don't suffer from chronic, never ending pain, had to experience the same pains that all of us suffer daily with, and suffer for months with it. They need to realize that if we could, throw away the canes, braces, pills--all of it--we would! We'd love to go back to work! We're not here to get a 'fix'! We can scarcely get our prescription filled for all the rules now! A lot of us need help to get out of bed every day and we don't take them illegally!
