image I took my 2007 Nissan here for new timing chains (as maintenance). I was charged $1800 @ just about 100,000 miles. Within a few thousand miles we noticed my vehicle now had a major oil leak where the case was cracked. We could hear timing slack, the car started idoling high, and trying to overheat. The thermostat corroded, and the water pump went out. Upon these new symptoms in my once perfectly running vehicle we began lengthy repairs, and tracking the source of the issue all the while my vehicle was completely inoperable for nearly a year as we didn't have unlimited funds to repair. At this point we have discovered: that the timing chains were still the original factory chains, several of the guide tensioners were broken. The seal on the case had not been cleaned well before new gasket maker was applied causing the oil leak, the supposedly new water pump was not functioning at all and the bolts were stripped inside the case. The radiator had a major blockage, because they had mixed coolants (green and orange) creating a gel in my coolant system. All in all this has ended up costing me several thousand dollars in repairs, and nearly destroyed my vehicle. I'm guessing their mechanic bit off more than he could chew, and panicked. Either way, the job I paid for was crucial to my vehicle's maintenence, and was both incomplete, and butchered, but passed off as a finished job. 100% do not recommend letting them near your vehicle.
In response, my vehicle was perfectly maintained, was not in need of "repairs" and had incredibly low milage for it's age. It currently has 122,000 miles. If the maintenance, were done correctly the timing chains should have lasted another 100,000 miles. Im also sure you didnt note an oil leak, because your shop caused it.

Business Response on Google Apr 7th, 2024
Thanks for sharing your perspective. Your car was least seen by AutoHouse in 2022. At that time, your vehicle was 15 years old was in need of many repairs. In 2022, we noted on your invoice, and recommended to you, repairs including a thermostat and a fan clutch. These suggested repairs were declined. In 2022, no oil leaks were noted. We use vehicle specific coolant as recommended by the manufacturer. Please let us know if you have any questions. Our managers are available to review your invoice and the feedback we provided you with at the time of service 2 years ago.
