Equestrian Zone is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, that provides Adaptive riding and hippotherapy to individuals with disabilities. We serve children and adults with a wide diversity of physical, cognitive, mental and emotional disabilities.Horseback riding moves the rider's body in a manner most similar to a human gait; therefore, riders show improvement in posture, balance, muscle control, and sensory motor skills. Psychologically, riders make gains in self-awareness, self-confidence, self-discipline and concentration. As the legs of these beautiful animals become the legs of our riders, they are permitted a sense of freedom and mobility seldom experienced elsewhere in their lives. A very special bond is established between horse and rider which encourages unconditional love, trust and self-worth.
