Simply Ceremonies

We had written confirmed wedding arrangements with Darlene/Simply Ceremonies more than 2 weeks prior to our wedding. Day of she did not arrive at the agreed upon/assigned time. We called and left a voice mail. She called us back and claimed that we hadn't confirmed. She said she had texted our landline and didn't receive a response from us. Clearly, this wasn't true, because she would have received a msg informing her it was a landline and for 25 cents she could have left us a msg on that line. She did not call and leave a msg for us on the landline. We had also provided her with a cell number and had in fact spoken to her on that line in earlier planning conversations with her. Darlene made no attempt to call or text that number either. At no time in earlier conversations with her did she indicate that we would need to confirm a 2nd time or that we should expect a call from her closer to our wedding date. We and our wedding guests 5 of whom were from out of town had been on site (Kingpan Gardens) by this time for close to an hour. Darlene asked if we could 'wait a bit' and or reschedule to another date. When asked how long it would take for her to arrive, she said at least 30 mins. We declined her offer, because she wasn't honest about having texted us; did not acknowledge that we had in fact confirmed our arrangement in writing; did not seem to be that concerned that she failed to arrive as agreed; because we had already been on site for about a hour by then and because we had reception reservations arranged that would have conflicted with a delayed ceremony. In addition, after making other arrangements with Pima County Justice Court, we found out that she would have charged 2x's more than they do (the postcard we received from them said it was the same price as a Courthouse wedding). The Courthouse charges $50 and they charge $100. Fortunately, we and our guests didn't allow this to spoil our time together and we were able to arrange a new ceremony with PC court on a later date. We and our guests would not recommend Darlene based on our experiences. We were lucky that we had a arranged a smaller ceremony and that our guests were amendable.While it makes for a colorful story, it is far from what we wanted or expected.

We had a lovely small ceremony performed by Darlene on February 4, 2024. All of the guests commented on what a lovely venue they have for the ceremonies. We are anxiously waiting for the certified marriage license so that I can start changing everything to my new married name. Great local place for a small intimate wedding.

I just want to say I either leave a good review or bad review. Darlene was amazing! I can be very complicating and she clarified everything to make my day beautiful and reasonably priced. If you're looking for something not to expensive, to do things your way and somebody willing to work with you, you found your place here with Simply Ceremonies and Darlene! So grateful I found you for my special day!! I can not thank you enough!

Me and my husband got eloped here, it was so beautiful and the price was good if your on a budget.
