Eastside Neighbors Volunteer Program

Can't say enough good things about this organization. Started as a volunteer and am now a recipient and it gets better and better. Friendly.,concerned and ever helpful for whatever you need (tho a bit curtailed now with the virus liitations).

This 'place' is the east side of Tucson and the piece of your heart that fills with happiness when you share your time helping others. ENVP provides services (mostly transportation) to seniors, helping them remain independently in thier homes. You volunteer on your schedule donating a few hours a month, a week, or per day.

After a volunteer came to my apartment and I was fully accepted to the program had even begun to set up rides I received a call from the supervisor telling me that I am not within the service area which ends across the street . Wow just wow...

The Good:What a great idea for a non-profit! The volunteers here help elderly people in the community by doing simple basic things for them: light errands, shopping for them, yard maintenance, or driving them to doctor's appointments or taking them grocery shopping etc.The organization is run by mostly volunteers from the community.The Bad:The office can be somewhat disorganized at times (although for the most part things run very efficiently and the staff does a good job).Some of the office staff can be impatient and come off as rude sometimes.   Overall this is a great service to the community and helps many people do things that they aren't able to do on their own anymore.
