I had a load of items that I had gotten in a storage locker auction that I had no use for, so loaded up my vehicle and drove the mile to the donation center. A skinny older fella came out with a cart. He took one look at the amount and told me that he couldnt take that much stuff and told me to go to another goodwill 9 miles away. I said to him it all doesnt have to go. So I opened up the door and tried to hand him a new toaster, he again told me I needed to go to another store. I asked him what could he take? He again said take all of it to another location. I said it all doesnt have to go. He wasnt even interested in what I had. There was probably $1000 worth of items. Many brand new. I donated them to another delightful organization that unloaded the items for me with a smile. Ironically they are in an old goodwill location. My neighbor took left over garage sale items to this same goodwill and same guy told her the same thing but finally gave in and took them after saying to her what, did you have a yard sale? Its a shame that this occurs where you expect that your stuff would be sold and benefit the local community. I will no longer consider goodwill as a place to donate to. Very disappointed.
